STITCH UP CHICAGO 2020 IS HERE!!!!

Stitch & Hustle is all about the many makers and small maker business owners that make up this incredible community. We encourage offline support and growth as much as online. Connecting is how we all thrive. Stitch Up Chicago was born from the idea of taking an online group offline to share fiber love. In the past year we have seen our community face the divisiveness of our times and focus on coming together to create a more diverse fabric. That is what every single Stitch Up is about: creating safe spaces and celebrating our common fiber. Four years later here we are planning our FOURTH Annual event and humbled by how our community has grown.

We are so excited to be returning to the fabulous Godfrey Hotel in downtown Chicago. If you are coming to our event you are eligible for our special discounted hotel rate of $125 per night by using our booking link here.

FRIDAY  FEBRUARY 28th
1-4 PM Afternoon Tea at Nina Chicago
Enjoy delicious snacks and bites from Chef On The Roof while you enjoy an exclusive discounted shopping experience at one of Chicago’s premier Fiber shops.

***The shop is closed to the public for Stitch Up attendees only! If you registered for the All In ticket, this special Kick Off is included. If you did not register for the All-In package, you can get a ticket to the kick off here

UNIVERSAL YARN STITCH NIGHT!

Join us for an evening of fabulous stitching and fiber friendship. We will be making a Universal Yarn kit and Michele will share her tips for customizing the design to make it your own.  A simple, but elegant project for all levels!
And yes there will be dinner!

SATURDAY  FEBRUARY 29th
9:30am – 11:00am  MODE AT ROWAN BRUNCH 
Enjoy a fabulous brunch buffet with all the fixings while we sip and stitch away the Daisy Chunky Beanie -  great project for beginners and a staple for experienced stitchers. You can never go wrong with the classics. Oh yes - everyone gets a Rowan Chunky Daisy Beanie Kit with the yarn, pattern and set of needles. There will also be a crochet option for our hookers (pattern by Michele Costa)!

11:00am – 12:30 PM KRAEMER YARNS BONUS WORKSHOP
We will continue enjoying morning delights for our tummy and stitch away a cozy chunky cowl featuring chunky beautiful Bear Creek Chunky Yarn with this BONUS Saturday Workshop. What a treat for us! There will be a knit and crochet option so everyone can stitch together.

1pm – 5pm AN AFTERNOON YARN TASTING (at the Godfrey Hotel)
Join us for an exploration of discovering some of Michele & Kristy’s favorite fibers. Attendees will be introduced to fabulous yarns and  have the opportunity to sample and try them out and swatch away. This year's Yarn Tasting features SEVEN of our favorite yarns that we want to share with you. Each will have a variety of bases and colors for you to try, Swatch sample, play with and some to even take home!

Universal Yarn sent some favorites from ALL their yarns for attendees to try. Indie dyers Asylum Fibers, Jilly & Kiddles, Lavender Lune, M1 Yarns, local Chicago gals Queen Crochet & KraeO are all bringing something so special for attendees to sample and play with.
 
Michele will then lead us in a fiber fabulous project for the afternoon featuring ASYLUM FIBERS and everyone gets an ASYLUM FIBERS KIT as well. Each will include a full skein of Asylum Fibers hand dyed yarn, an original knit AND crochet pattern by Michele Costa, AND a set of My Two Ladies Knitting Needles or Crochet Hook.

Join us for yummy tacos and the ultimate sip & stitch with all your new fiber friends to close out Stitch Up Chicago. Everyone gets a Knit Crate Kit to take home and make something fabulous and it includes BOTH a knitting AND a crochet pattern.
